I'm gradually getting around to reading some of his older books. I picked this up with a couple of others for a few quid. This is a fairly straight action story, but with a few emotional twists. It features a female Japanese cello player who can't bear to fly and so travels by ship to Europe via the Panama Canal. There she gets caught up in a war zone. Things turn ugly and she gets to show what she is made of. I found it exciting, but was not so keen on the trademark sickening violence. A fairly quick, enjoyable read.
